King Felipe VI, accompanied by Queen Letizia of Spain, has accepted an invitation from The Queen to pay a State Visit to the United Kingdom from 12th to 14th July this year. They will visit Her Majesty at Buckingham Palace.

The last State Visit from Spain to the UK was in 1986 by King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia.

On the morning of 12th July, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall will greet the couple at their hotel on behalf of Her Majesty. From there, the four will travel to Horse Guards Parade to receive a Ceremonial Welcome where The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh will first receive the King and Queen of Spain.

A private lunch at Buckingham Palace and tea at Clarence House will follow, along with King Felipe addressing the Royal Gallery to Parliamentarians in the afternoon. The day will end with a State Banquet.

In the following days, King Felipe and Queen Letizia will join Prince Andrew at a UK-Spain Business Forum, the Princess Royal at a Banquet at Guildhall given by the Lord Mayor and the City of London and Prince Harry will join them in laying a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior.

Apart from their schedule with the British Royal Family, the Spanish Royal couple will also visit Oxford University to view Spanish artefacts and a reception for Spanish nationals at Exeter College.
